Venting about shoes

I am a shoe girl. Always have been. ( well, shoes and bags) I have quite an extensive collection of shoes (and bags) However, this is about shoes. I have a bad back. I have had a bad back for many years. I ignored it for a long time until, ultimately, I needed back surgery a few years ago. Since then my footwear has become very important. Not in the fashion sense, but in the back supportive sense. I have a BIG beef with footwear makers. They either make cute, fashionable shoes and boots that have little or NO decent foot beds that would anywhere near support a bad back. OR, they make the most butt ugly shoes that DO have great footbeds that DO support a bad back and actually enable said bad back sufferer to walk more than 10 minutes without collapsing in pain. Which would be your choice? Birkenstock or Manolo? Feregamo or 'stout' walking shoes? We are not all old ladies who do not care what our footwear looks like. Even if we are old ladies, we DO care that our footwear is stylish.

Why, Oh WHY, can't someone make a birkenstock foot bed in a lovely CUTE shoe. Why does it have to be so butt ugly. Surely we have progressed to the point where fashion could meet function. I plead with anyone who might have any influence in this area. Please. We would like a FASHIONABLE - FUNCTIONABLE shoe. *sigh* Anyone? anyone? Beuller?

You must buy cute boots instead , Bev. Cute and comfy is much easier to find in boots.
