We are getting ready to party at the Paper Whimsy Forum. Its a ball and we dressed up to the max.
I used a glittery copper/brown Christmas pointsettia as my base and added gauzy wired organza ribbon, copper dresden flowers from PW, plenty of beautiful feathers from a feather 'duster' that I dismantled, and her underskirt is a very fine copper mesh. Her straps are rusty ivy metal vines from PW. Not a needle and thread in sight. Lots of glue though. Oh. Wait. I lied. I did gather the copper mesh underskirt with thread. That actually caused some anxiety. I had to (1) find a needle and (2) actually get it threaded. Fortunately for me I found a needle that was already threaded with enough thread to do the job. Also, fortunately, nobody will be looking up her skirts since we keep these.
And hereto is my one foray into 'Project Runway', non-style style.

OK, reading about your gown ingredients, how neat that you used copper mesh for an underskirt! I really Love that stuff. You have really created an exotic and delicate piece, what fun this would be to wear to a ball......no peeking up skirts of course LOL!
STUNNING!!! My absolute favorite.

Your ball gown is a knock-out!!! I loved reading about your process!
This is so haute couture, you really should submit it to that magazine!!!

Cat has a good idea - I think this would get published in a flash. It's absolutely beautiful. I may send you a present of some threaded needles someday, but isn't it great that you could put this together without having to sew?
Well done Bev!
This is so fabulous! So glad you told us all the ingredients. I'll never look at a feather duster the same. I'll see ballgowns! :-)
bev, Bev, BEV!!! Your ball gown is the most amazing creation, I love it! Feathers, copper, and ribbon oh my! You rock!
Bev Just love your ballgown stunningxxx
This is ridiculous - and I mean that in the supercool and very hip sort of way.
